Preparing to sell your car

Selling your car isn’t just about finding a place to advertise it. You need to give your car a good bit of attention before selling it. This is even more important is you’re going to have a lot of people viewing your car. This is just common sense but make sure you give your car a real good clean. Not just the outside the inside too. Get your self some good cleaning products and spend a few hours making it look spick and span. You could get your car professionally valeted or take the cheaper option and do it yourself.

Give the insides a vacuum, take out all the mats first. Give the mats a good wash if they’re dirty. Clean the windows on the inside a clean too. Empty out any rubbish in the ashtrays, side trays, glove box and any other compartments. Get a pleasant car air freshener – not one that’s too strong as this could make it worse rather than better.

For the exterior:

The easiest option is to spend a few quid and to taje it down to the nearest car wash. Opt for the full wash with wax included. This will keep your car cleaner for longer. Or you could use a bit of elbow grease and clean, wax and polish it yourself. It’s much harder work but you’ll feel a great sense of achievement and you can practice your “wax on, wax off”!
